InterBrand released its listing of the top-ten brands for 2011.
The list is virtually the same from 2010: Coca-Cola (NYSE: KO) sits comfortably atop at $71.861 billion, a two-percent increase from last year, while International Business Machines (NYSE: IBM) is second at $69.905 billion.
Only one change to the list, including order, is notable: Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) has replaced Nokia (NYSE: NOK) in the number eight position at $33.492 billion.
Apple taking over Nokia's spot makes sense. The Finnish mobile giant has struggled over the past year to keep its brand relevant in the global market place. A recent partnership with Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) hasn't helped it's standings. Apple, on the other hand, has seen a marked increase in global mobile market share with it's iPhone lineup.
Wednesday, Apple shares are about flat while Nokia shares are up more than 3 percent.
