A number of life insurers are higher this morning after Hartford Financial Services Group (NYSE: HIG) raised its fourth quarter 2009 earnings estimates significantly.
Hartford Financial said it now sees Q4 EPS between $1.45 and $1.60, as compared to the company's previous guidance of $0.65 to $0.80. The Wall Street consensus is $0.83. Hartford's President and CEO, Liam E. McGee, said, "The core businesses of The Hartford performed well in the fourth quarter."
