IMAX Shares Up 20% Since Release of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

Since the release of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen on Wednesday morning, shares of IMAX Corp. (Nasdaq: IMAX) have rallied nearly 20%. The stock surged from $6.95 on Wednesday to $8.19 at Friday's close, and given opening weekend data which was issued this morning, shares of IMAX are continuing higher this week. The stock is up another 1% to $8.27 today.
Transformers 2 posted the largest opening in IMAX history, grossing $14.4 million during its first five days of shows. The IMAX release contributed more than 7% of the film's $201 million total since the release. The Michael Bay film also saw the biggest international 3-day weekend for an IMAX DMR(R) title of $2.1 million.
