Genzyme (GENZ) Sinks After Interrupting Production at Allston Plant

Shares of Genzyme Corp. (Nasdaq: GENZ) are under heavy pressure this AM after the company announced it will temporarily interrupt bulk production at its Allston Landing manufacturing facility after it has detected a virus that impairs cell growth in one of six bioreactors.

The company expects the plant to be fully operational by the end of July.

Shares of Genzyme are down 6.8% currently.
