Pali Research Thinks The Palm Pre (PALM) Will Be Popular With Business Users

June 5, 2009 1:26 PM EDT
Today, Pali Research attended a kick-off breakfast with Sprint's (NYSE: S) exclusive phone the Palm Pre (Nasdaq: PALM) and below are some of Pali's opinions on the Pre. By the way, back in January, SI's Jason Raznick told investors to get long Palm when it was trading at the $3.00 level a day prior to the Pre launch.
  • Pali believes the Pre will appeal to business customers which should help Sprint cut its post-paid losses.
  • Pali felt the Pre's ergonomics were superior to the iPhone. Application loads seem to be quick as well.
  • Palm Pre keyboard is a big plus, but Pali said the Pre's keyboard is inferior to Research In Motion's (Nasdaq: RIMM) Blackberry.
  • Pali said the keyboard is good enough for business customers to make the switch, something that Apple's (Nasdaq: AAPL) iPhone’s touch screen prevented.
  • Pali believes the product will sell well for Sprint and help to profile the superiority of Sprint's EVDO data network.
