Report Suitors Could Be Eyeing Cooper Companies (COO)

According to reports from FT.com's MergerMarket, suitors could be eyeing pure-play contact lens player The Cooper Companies Inc. (NYSE: COO).

According to the report, Cooper's CFO Eugene Midlock declined to comment on whether the company has been approached or has run a process. However, Albert White, VP of investor relations at Cooper, responded that ”a lot of bankers pitch different ideas, different structures and so forth, but we don't comment on any acquisition information or news.

The report said, while Cooper Companies is not running an official sale process, buyers could show an appetite to strike a deal.
