Ex-Met Lenny "Nails" Dykstra Settles With Accounting Firm
Ex-Met star and now one of the pundits at TheStreet.com (Nasdaq: TSCM), Lenny "Nails" Dykstra settled with an accounting firm that he owed $138,872. Dykstra was in court to settle the case with DDK & Co., who claimed he reneged on a $138,872 bill.
DDK & Co and Lenny Dykstra ended up settling behind the closed doors of Manhattan federal Magistrate Judge Debra Freeman.
Dykstra and the accounting firm would not comment on the terms or the amount of the settlement. However, while incessantly chewing licorice, Dykstra wouldn't stop talking and made several comments to the NY Daily News, such as: "I like to pretend I got hit by a lot of pitches."
TheStreet.com heavily advertises a paid newsletter that Dykstra writes for its site. Dykstra focuses on buying deep in-the-money options. In one of the ads, it says Lenny has had gains of $80,950 since June.
Over the past couple years, Dykstra has been in the news for several outstanding bills and a disagreement with Doubledown Media. Additionally, his former legal team in the DDK & Co. case resigned after accusing him of being a deadbeat on his legal bills.
The NY Daily News writer reminded Dykstra of a private jet company suing him for allegedly trying to dodge a $7,000 bill. Dykstra responds "That's ashtray money, bro."
Later, Dykstra flashed some magazine covers to the newspaper's reporter and said, "You get to be on the cover if you win. I'm all about the (wins), the results."
Lastly, Dykstra talked about new deals he has in the works, including an Internet game he's pitching to Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling. He also talked about this while appeared on TheStreetTV several months back.
The reporter said, finally, "Lenny stopped talking and walked away - still chewing on the Twizzler."
