Dow Jones is reporting that Petrobras (NYSE: PBR) expects to start evacuating non-essential personnel from its Gulf of Mexico operations on Thursday as Tropical Storm Gustav is expected to move into the area by the weekend.
Shares of Petrobras are currently up more than 3% amid crude oil that has risen about $2 today. As the oil trading pits have transformed into weather stations over the last few trading days given the concerns related to Tropical Storm Gustav, oil stocks are feeling a low-volume boost today.
