This morning, on AutoNation's (NYSE: AN) Q1 conference call, which started at 11 AM ET, Chairman and CEO, Mike Jackson gave shareholders an update on the Company's operating performance and macro factors that may be affecting AutoNation.
Several interesting points from Mr. Jackson on the call were:
AutoNation, Inc., through its subsidiaries, operates as an automotive retailer in the United States. [BCS]

- AutoNation is not seeing an impact on General Motors (NYSE: GM) sales due to the American Axle strike;
- banks have been tightening some credit standards; and
- the market can expect more "normal" lending later in 2008.
