Newcastle Investment (NYSE: NCT) is up over $0.44 or 3.13% today, trading at $14.50. Newcastle Investment announced yesterday that its Board declared a quarterly cash dividend on its common stock of $0.72 per share for the quarter ending December 31, 2007. The dividend is payable on January 30, 2008 to holders of record of Newcastle's common stock on December 31, 2007.
Newcastle has a dividend yield of close to 20%. So as long as this company keeps operating successfully and continues to pay this dividend, I see the stock rising. The assurance of the dividend announcement yesterday met the market with cheers. As long as Fortress (NYSE: FIG) founder, Wes Edens continues to execute, Newcastle should be a decent holding.
Newcastle Investment Corp. is a real estate investment and finance company.
