On, Fast Money tonight, Barton Biggs, a successful hedge fund manager, said his best idea is owning investment banks. Companies in this sector include Merrill Lynch (NYSE: MER), Morgan Stanley (NYSE: MS), Lehman Brother (NYSE: LEH), Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS), Citigroup (NYSE: C), Credit Suisse (NYSE: CS).

Barton Biggs is a big name in the investment world and his stock ideas can potentially move markets; I would keep an eye on the above financials, especially Morgan Stanley, Goldman, Lehman and Credit Suisse.

Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch are often the leaders of the most IPO underwritings and merger and acquisition transactions.

Credit Suisse rallied today on Deutsche Bank (NYSE: DB) reported great numbers today even though it had $3.17 billion writedown.

Lehman Brothers has been historically the leader in the fixed income desk, but its prop equity desk has been growing and Lehman has been gaining more institutional clients for LEH's equity trading desk.

Goldman Sachs continues to outperform its competitors and has been making the right bets in the subprime sector.
