Cabot Corporation (NYSE: CBT) appointed William Masterson as senior vice president and president of its Reinforcement Materials segment, effective November 21. Masterson replaces Matthew Wood, who ceased employment with the company immediately.
The company stated that Wood's departure was not due to any disagreement regarding business performance, operations, financial statements, internal controls, or auditors.
Masterson joined Cabot from WR Grace in 2011 and has held various leadership positions across the company's businesses. Most recently, he served as vice president of Global Business Operations for Carbon and Silica Technologies, overseeing specialty carbon, specialty compounds, fumed metal oxide and aerogel manufacturing facilities globally.
In his previous role, Masterson managed product management, supply chain, and product line technology functions. He also served as vice president and regional business director for the Americas in specialty carbons and fumed metal oxides product lines, handling sales, marketing, and technical service activities.
"Bill brings a strong and diverse background to his new role, with deep expertise in global business operations, commercial strategy, and a proven ability to lead complex organizations," said Sean Keohane, president and chief executive officer of Cabot Corporation.
Cabot Corporation is a Boston-based specialty chemicals and performance materials company that provides reinforcing carbons, specialty carbons, battery materials, engineered elastomer composites, and other materials to various industries.
