MADRID (Reuters) - On the eve of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez's dramatic announcement about his future, thousands of Socialist Party supporters rallied in Madrid on Sunday to ask him to stay on after he stunned the country this week by saying he might quit.

US Secretary of State to travel to Jordan and Israel — State Dept Apr 28, 2024 04:02PM

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken will expand his trip to the Middle East and continue onto Jordan and Israel after visiting Saudi Arabia, State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller said on Sunday.

In a statement, Miller said Blinken will focus on the effort to secure a ceasefire in Gaza that will see the release of hostages and ensure humanitarian aid into the enclave continues or increases.

Deutsche Bank to assess options for possible Postbank settlement Apr 28, 2024 03:42PM

FRANKFURT (Reuters) - Deutsche Bank said on Sunday that it would "carefully assess" options for a possible settlement in litigation over its takeover of Postbank that has required it to make provision for claims of up to 1.3 billion euros ($1.39 billion).

L'Occitane's billionaire owner close to possible $7 billion buyout bid, Bloomberg reports Apr 28, 2024 02:48PM

(Reuters) -The billionaire owner of L'Occitane International is close to making a proposal to take the French skincare firm private as early as Monday in a deal that could value it at about $7 billion including debt, Bloomberg News reported.
