TORONTO (Reuters) - Canada on Friday ordered some petrochemical plants in Ontario to take strict measures to control pollution from cancer-causing chemical benzene after release from a facility forced a First Nation community to declare a state of emergency.

One Palestinian killed, eight wounded in Israeli strike on West Bank refugee camp May 17, 2024 04:44PM

RAMALLAH, West Bank (Reuters) -At least one person was killed and eight wounded on Friday in an Israeli air strike on the Jenin refugee camp in the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian health ministry and Israeli military said.

The Palestinian health ministry said the eight wounded people were in stable condition and receiving treatment at hospitals. Reuters could not immediately confirm their identities.

Trapped US doctors are out of Gaza, White House says May 17, 2024 04:29PM

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A group of U.S. medical workers left the Gaza Strip after getting stuck at the hospital where they were providing care, the White House said on Friday.

Swedish EV maker Polestar gets Nasdaq notice on potential de-listing May 17, 2024 04:28PM

(Reuters) -Swedish electric vehicle firm Polestar said on Friday it was notified by the Nasdaq for not meeting the exchange's listing rules related to the timely filing of the company's annual report with the U.S. securities regulator.

The company said it is working to file its annual report for the fiscal year ended Dec. 31 and to report its first-quarter financial results of 2024.
