Distrust in FDIC leadership drives more staff to consider exits, data shows May 9, 2024 06:05AM

(Reuters) - Staff trust in the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation's leadership has fallen sharply to well below government averages, with a growing number of workers considering leaving the agency, the latest FDIC staff survey data obtained by Reuters shows.

DEKALB, Illinois (Reuters) - Falling crop prices are leaving agriculture equipment sellers with an excess of unsold tractors and combines. To cope with the surplus, dealers are discounting machines, suspending new orders, and even auctioning off equipment at reduced prices.

Virginia school board considers restoring Confederate names to schools May 9, 2024 06:02AM

(Reuters) - A U.S. school board in Shenandoah County, Virginia, will vote on Thursday on whether to restore previously removed Confederate names to two schools, potentially becoming the first community in the nation to reinstate such names.

Egypt's foreign debt rises $3.5 billion in last quarter of 2023 May 9, 2024 05:57AM

CAIRO (Reuters) - Egypt's foreign debt climbed by $3.5 billion in the three months to the end of December, according to central bank data released on Thursday.

Total foreign debt rose to $168.0 billion from $164.5 billion at the end of September and $162.9 billion at the end of December 2022.
