Herbalife (HLF) Seeks Information from Twitter (TWTR) for One User; Files Petition in Illinois
Herbalife (NYSE: HLF) is said to have filed a petition to gain information on one Twitter (NYSE: TWTR) user, which the company claims made defamatory posts about the company.
According to Reuters, Herbalife is seeking the IP addresses and account details for @AfueraHerbaLIES.
Herbalife's petition in Illinois read, in part, The twitter feed of @AfueraHerbaLIES contains not only defamatory, disparaging, and deceptive posts about Herbalife and its products, but also contains numerous insulting and offensive statements about Herbalife's management team, its members, and even federal regulators.
Shares of Herbalife are down 0.5 percent Wednesday.
