Short selling manipulation One would wonder about the timing and "insight" associated with this non-news "initiates coverage" announcement. The SEC should get off its sorry behind and police this kind of manipulative nonsense.

Makes me wonder ... The "analysis" offered is extermely stale since EXACTLY the same thing could have been said many to several months ago. Why has "Hapoalim" suddenly struggled to consciousness? Hmmm? These sorts of "analyses" are typical of those that collude in short games. Have fun.

Victoza vs Byetta I was moved on to Byetta from insulin in 2008 for a period of 9 months. Everything was fine for 7 months and I lost 42 pounds in weight and my glucoze control was excellent. Unfortunately, after 7 months my glucoze levels increased dramatically and my weight started to increase once again and after taking Byetta for 9 months I had to go back to insulin once again and my weight has increased to a higher level than it was when I started Byetta.although my glucoze levels have once again come under control. I have today been introduced to Victoza by my diabetic consultant and I hope to be accepted to receive this new product. I believe that the more people that are able to try these new items the better and more accurate studies will become. Who knows, with us being fortunate enough to try these new products one day there will be total control for all!

RE: Byetta Death While I mean the above poster no disrespect toward her and her husband who passed away, there is no way a pharmaceutical company can 'suppress info' on any potential deaths from a drug. It is just that Amylin has received so much bad press from the pancreatitis issue, in my opinion a non-issue. First of all, there was no issue of pancreatitis in all of their very long clinical trials conducted well prior to approval, and next the condition of diabetes is such that there is a much higher risk of getting pancreatitis than non-diabetics, and it can occur from several risk factors, and not necessarily from a drug. Also, nearly all of those reported cases that died, they died from other causes, or were morbidly obese. And there are other drugs available now that have been shown to have a possible association with pancreatitis, but since the numbers are so small, it is really difficult to label as the drug as the true cause. You also have to look at the patient history, and if they were treated for diabetes and were at risk already for a pancreatitis episode. On the other hand I do feel badly for anyone that has died while using byetta, but I would add, let us dig deeper and ask the FDA to come clean and tell us what other drugs a patient is taking at the time they came down with pancreatitis. Of course this might take some time since over 800 diabetics die every day, but to be fair to the manufacturer of byetta, and to those that want to the true facts, it should be worth the effort, in my opinion. Write your Congressman/women! (FDA tells us either everything or nothing at all)
