Nomura Securities Cuts PT on Arch Coal (ACI) Post Q4; Sees Headwinds

Arch Coal (ACI) Misses Q4 EPS by 27c, Offers Outlook
February 5, 2013 7:47 AM ESTArch Coal, Inc. (NYSE: ACI) reported Q4 EPS of ($0.42), $0.27 worse than the analyst estimate of ($0.15). Revenue for the quarter came in at $968.2 million versus the consensus estimate of $997.55 million.
Company Outlook
Arch has established production targets for 2013, and expects sales from company-controlled operations of between 133 million and 144 million tons for the full year. Included in this range are projected sales of 8 million to 9 million tons of metallurgical coal. At expected volume levels, Arch is nearly 90 percent committed on thermal sales for 2013.
