Alcatel-Lucent (ALU) Plans to Cut 5,500 Positions Globally

Alcatel-Lucent (NYSE: ALU) shares are ticking higher Thursday following reports that it will be eliminating about 5,490 jobs globally. The move comes following the cost-cutting plan announced in July.

It total, about 3,300 jobs will be cut in Europe and 1,490 in France, Alcatel's home country.... More
