RIM (RIMM) Aims to Cover Entire Smartphone Spectrum with BB10 in 2013 (AAPL) (NOK)
When it comes to bases, you want to cover all of them.
No one knows this better than Research In Motion (Nasdaq: RIMM). According to the company's Marrketing Chief Frank Boulben, RIM will launch not two, but six smartphones running BlackBerry 10 in 2013. The devices will span ranges from high-end to low-end markets.
Though having a solid, enterprise-worthy offering is important, it is also key for RIM to keep-on attacking the emerging market scene. Apple (nasdaq: AAPL) is been said to be working on a low-cost device and Nokia (NYSE: NOK) has had a solid presence in emerging markets for a while, though that could change in 2013.
RIM shares ended 3.5 percent lower Wednesday, possible also becuase of the lower-end iPhone news.
