Apple (AAPL) Keeps Top Spot in Mobile Ad Impressions, But Samsung Closes In (GOOG) (RIMM)

Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) is still killing it in terms of ad impressions on Millennial Media's mobile ad network, new data out today shows. However, rival Samsung isn't too far behind.
According to Millennial Media, Apple garnered 31 percent of all ad impressions in the third quarter, up from 22 percent the prior quarter. Samsung also rose from 22 percent, but up to just 25 percent.
Apple's iPhone led all mobile devices with 16 percent of all ad impressions, Millennial Media noted. Samsung had eight devices nab 13 percent of all impressions, more devices than any other manufacturer. HTC was third at 7.96 percent and RIM (Nasdaq: RIMM) fourth at 7.9 percent.
Google's (Nasdaq: GOOG) Android operating system took 52 percent of all ad impressions, from 46 percent last quarter. Apple's iOS was flat at 34 percent. RIM's BlackBerry took in 8 percent.
Apple, Google, and RIM are all higher on the session Thursday.
