Nokia's (NYSE: NOK) next chief executive is likely to come from within the ranks.
Bloomberg speculates that Nokia's new CEO should be someone already with the company.
One of the top candidates is Rajeev Suri, who runs Nokia Solutions and Networks (NSN), while Chief Financial Officer Timo Ihamuotila is also said to be considered for the role.
Nokia isn't expected to name its next CEO until the $7.4 billion divestiture of its Devices & Services business to Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) is complete.
Following the sale, Nokia is more likely to refocus on its NSN unit, which would pit it against competitors like Ericsson (Nasdaq: ERIC) and Huawei Technology for network equipment market share. Another potential move is that Nokia's three divisions -- NSN, maps, and advanced technologies -- will be looked at equally.
Shares of Nokia are down 1 percent Thursday.
