Google Said to Form Dedicated VR Unit - Re/code

Google is said to have formed its own virtual reality division, according to Re/code.
News comes as Facebook (Nasdaq: FB) and Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) continue to push forward in the segment.
The move might not come as a surprise to many, with Google recently releasing Cardboard, or an way for consumers to use their smartphones in a more interactive way. Also, Google and GoPro entered a partnership last year which was aimed at creating more immersive video via the use of multiple cameras.
Shares of Alphabet, which owns Google, are up around 1 percent.
