Facebook (Nasdaq: FB) is said to have partnered with the National Football League (NFL) in a "what-took-so-long" deal for the NFL to publish video clips to the social media platform.
According to various reports, clips will begin appearing on Facebook starting Tuesday.
Verizon Wireless, of Verizon Communications (NYSE: VZ), will run ads after the clips end. Both Facebook and the NFL will split profits from the ads, though specific financial terms weren't made available.
The deal also underscores Facebook making a stronger move into online video with the overall goal of capturing more ad dollars in the process.
Shares of Facebook are positive Wednesday.
