Facebook (Nasdaq: FB) is in focus Friday following a crackdown in spam accounts by Instagram.
According to The Verge, follower counts have plummeted amid the effort to remove fake or spam accounts. One example is from the rapper Tyga, whom saw his followers drop from 5.5 million down to a more modest 2.2 million.
Opinion have been mixed, with many noting that those with the biggest drop in followers probably just purchased a bunch to bolster numbers.
