Rent-A-Center, Inc. (RCII) Tops Q1 EPS by 2c; Guides FY14 EPS

Rent-A-Center, Inc. (NASDAQ: RCII) reported Q1 EPS of $0.57, $0.02 betterthan the analyst estimate of $0.55. Revenue for the quarter came in at $833.7 million versus the consensus estimate of $840.31 million.

For the quarter ended March 31, 2014, same store sales declined 0.8% as compared to the same period in the prior year, primarily attributable to a 6.1% decrease in the Core U.S. segment, partially offset by increases of 26.1% and 20.3% in the Acceptance Now and Mexico segments, respectively.

Rent-A-Center, Inc. sees FY2014 EPS of $2.30-$2.50, versus the consensus of $2.29. Guidance includes approximately $0.25 per share dilution related to Mexico
