BofA (BAC) Nabs Top JPMorgan (JPM) Exec to Co-Head TMT Investment Banking

June 19, 2013 3:34 PM EDT
Bank of America (NYSE: BAC) is tapping talent from one of its rivals as it looks to strengthen its investment banking operations.

Bloomberg reported Wednesday that Anwar Zakkour will be joining BofA from JPMorgan (NYSE: JPM), where he served as vice chairman of investment banking. At BofA, Zakkour will retain the title of co-head of global telecommunications, media and technology (TMT) investment banking.

Zakkour recently advised on the much-touted merger between MetroPCS Communications and Deutsche Telekom's T-Mobile USA (NYSE: TMUS) unit. He also worked with General Electric (NYSE: GE) and its massive sale of NBCUniversal to Comcast (Nasdaq: CMCSA).

BofA shares are modestly lower Wednesday.
