52-Week High:
- Rambus (Nasdaq: RMBS) $8.83. Rambus and SK Hynix entered a five-year patent agreement over memory-related patented innovations. The agreement includes a license to certain DRAM products for payments of $12 million per quarter for the next five years.
- Applied Materials (Nasdaq: AMAT) $15.81. Applied moving higher as Citi upgraded the stock from Neutral to Buy today.
- Hewlett-Packard (NYSE: HPQ) $25.49. H-P moving higher following slightly bullish comments from CEO Meg Whitman this morning. On CNBC, Whitman said she thought Hewlett-Packard was "a bit ahead" of where it would be when turnaround plans were first implemented. Shares were up over 5 percent to the new level Wednesday.
- Cytokinetics (Nasdaq: CYTK) $1.49. Cytokinetics and Amgen announced an expansion of a strategic collaboration into Japan. The company entered an agreement in 2006 to discover, develop and commercialize novel small-molecule therapeutics that activate cardiac muscle contractility for potential applications in the treatment of heart failure.
- Arch Coal (NYSE: ACI) $4.34. The Sierra Club and the Natural Resources Defense Council request that the U.S. Interior Department charge coal miners more after an audit by the Interior Department that about $60 million in leave revs might have been missed.
- VeriFone Systems, Inc. (NYSE: PAY) $15.92. VeriFone continuing to slide following quarterly results issued last Wednesday. The stock is down over 27 percent since last week.
- Peabody Energy Corp. (NYSE: BTU) $16.85. Peabody moving along with Arch Coal following the Interior audit. Shares have broken through the $18 and $17 levels over the past two sessions. The stock has closed lower 12 of the last 14 sessions, with the dips appearing to get more severe.
