News Corp (Nasdaq: NWSA) is on watch following following an earlier announcement that a popular TV series will be returning next year.
According to an announcement, the show "24" will be returning in May 2014 for a 12-episode run under the guise, "24: Live Another Day."
"24" last aired in 2010 and executives from News Corp's Fox Network have been mulling different ways to bring the series back.
One plan called for a miniseries and was given the green light. Thus, the 12 episodes will be 11 regular and one miniseries-type episode directed by M. Night Shyamalan. It will revolve over 24 hours in the life of main character Jack Bauer, played by Kiefer Sutherland.
Shares of News Corp are down about 0.3 percent Monday.
