May 6, 2013 9:01 AM EDT
Maybe the character's name should be changed to "Platinum Man."

Following-up from last weekend's data, "Iron Man 3" (IM3) had a strong debut in the U.S. last weekend.

Marvel's IM3 pulled in about $175.3 million in domestic box office receipts, making it the second-largest opening weekend draw since "The Avengers" took in $207.4 million last year.

Along with $504.8 million in international receipts, IM3 has taken in $680.1 million since its debut.

Marvel is owned by Disney. Shares are up in early trading.
