BioCryst Pharma (Nasdaq: BCRX) is moving higher again Wednesday following reports that the bird flu might not even be transferred via the main culprit: birds.
The World Health Organization (WHO) said that a number of new cases tied to the H7N9 virus haven't had a history of being in contact with poultry. The announcement confirms earlier speculation by one top Chinese scientist that 40 percent of those infected had no poultry contact.
About 16 deaths have been reported recently over avian flu. Shares of BioCryst are up about 2 percent early.
