Apple, Inc. (Nasdaq: AAPL) is planning to update its newest mobile operating system as complaints of shorter battery life following updates have come from far and wide.
According to the BBC, Apple plans to update iOS 6.1 later Monday. The move comes after Apple introduced the update last month. Some users have reported that the batter on their iPhone was dropping at a higher clip than before installing to iOS 6.1.
Problems have been associated with corporate email and mobile networks, noted the BBC.
U.K.-based mobile carrier Vodafone (Nasdaq: VOD) said problems have been intermittent and appear to only be affecting the iPhone 4S. Concerns that if too many iPhone users were in the same area the excess traffic being generates would overload the 3G networks.
Apple has not issued a comment on the matter and it wasn't made entirely clear whether the issue was affecting only users in the U.K., or if it was more widespread.
Shares of Apple are up 1.3 percent Monday.
