Vodafone (Nasdaq: VOD) is girding to roll-out the latest smartphones running Microsoft's (Nasdaq: MSFT) Windows Phone 8 operating system.
According to a blog post on Monday, Vodafone has committed to three Nokia (NYSE: NOK) lumia smartphones and two HTC models. The Nokia devices will be the Lumia 920, 820, and 620, while HTC's 8X and 8S will be offered.
Availability of the devices will be on Wednesday, February 6th.
The spectrum of offerings by Vodafone will appease consumers at all price points. The most notable absentee would be Samsung's Ativ S. Given how popular the Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) Android-based Galaxy S III was, the absence might be a boon for Nokia and HTC.
Shares of Nokia are lower in early trading Monday.
