Shorts Cheer as Select Comfort (SCSS) Misses Q4 Views, Issues Light Guidance

On the other side of the Tempur-Pedic (NYSE: TPX) trade, Select Comfort Corp (Nasdaq: SCSS) is having a rough after-hours session. The company reported Q4 EPS of 22 cents and revs of $220.6 million, versus views calling for EPS of 32 cents and revs of $230.0 million.

FY13 EPS guidance was $1.65 to $1.80, versus estimates of $1.90.

Like Tempur-Pedic, short interest is high at 4.86 million shares, or 9 percent of total outstanding shares.

The stock is down about 16 percent.
