Research In Motion (RIMM) Looking at Hardware Production Sale, Software Licensing
Research In Motion Ltd (NASDAQ: RIMM) is higher again early Tuesday as excitement continues to build for the BB10 launch and analysts get behind the embattled smartphone maker. In addition to the second upgrade in as many U.S. trading days, today's upside comes on the back of comments from CEO Thorsten Heins to German paper Dei Welt that as part of its strategic review it is considering the sale of its hardware production as well as the licensing of its software.
After jumping as high as 18% in Toronto trading Monday, shares closed up 11%. With U.S. markets closed Monday for MLK Day, the BlackBerry maker is indicated to open 6.5% higher Tuesday.
