Coinstar (CSTR) Slumps as Netflix (NFLX), Turner, Warner Bros Enter New Deal

Netflix (Nasdaq: NFLX) shares are up Monday afternoon following an earlier release that the company, Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., and The Warner Bros. Television Group (WBTVG) entered into a new licensing agreement.

According to the release, U.S. Netflix members will be able to watch " complete previous seasons of animated and live-action programming from Cartoon Network, Warner Bros. Animation and Adult Swim, as well as the TNT serialized drama Dallas (produced by Warner Horizon Television)." Netflix will also get exclusive rights to season one and two of the critically acclaimed Warner Horizon Television-produced TNT series Dallas starting in January 2014.

Lower on the session today is peer Coinstar (Nasdaq: CSTR), which, along with Verizon Communications (NYSE: VZ), is launching its Redbox Instant platform soon. Redbox Instant is currently in beta testing in certain U.S. markets.

Netflix is about 2 percent higher on the session, which Coinstar is off 1 percent.
