According to Finnish news source YLE, Nokia Siemens -- a joint venture of Nokia Corp. (NYSE: NOK) and Siemens AG (NYSE: SI) -- is said to have cut 300 jobs at its Espoo, Finland unit.
YLE said the employees opted for a voluntary departure package.
NSN and 400 employees entered negotiations last September. Though the company said no new cuts are coming, at least one shop steward isn't as confident. He said working at NSN has become so unstable that the new statutory negotiations weren't a surprise.
Espoo is also where Nokia's headquarters is located.
