MetLife (MET) in Talks to Buy $2B Chilean Unit from BBVA (BBVA)

MetLife (NYSE: MET) is ticking slightly higher early Wednesday following chatter it might be looking for further exposure in LatAm.
According to reports out today, MetLife may be in discussions to acquire Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria's (NYSE: BBVA) Chilean pension-management unit. The unit -- known as AFP Provida SA -- has a market value of $2 billion, according to some sources.
A deal might be signed within days or a few weeks, Bloomberg noted this morning, citing sources.
Shares of MetLife are up about 0.2 percent early.
