Apple's (AAPL) iPhone 5 Eats Competitors' Lunch in LTE Segment During Q3

Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) only released its first 4G LTE compatible smartphone in September via the iPhone 5, but the company is already making some significant market share gains.
According to new data out of Strategy Analytics, Apple went from zero to hero (a 26.7 percent market share) since the iPhone 5 launched.
Samsung Electronics remained the top LTE smartphone vendor at 40 percent of the global market, leading for the seventh-straight quarter.
LG Electronics saw share drop from 15 percent to 9.1 percent and Google's (Nasdaq: GOOG) Motorola Mobility dropped from 15 percent to just 6.7 percent.
Strategy Analytics also sees strong growth in the segment, with LTE subs moving from 9 million in FY11 up to 50 million within a few years.
Apple is indicated for a stronger open Tuesday.
