T-Mobile USA is finally getting Apple's (Nasdaq: AAPL) popular iPhone.
T-Mobile USA parent Deutsche Telekom announced today that it has entered into an agreement with Apple to bring products to market together in 2013.
T-Mobile will be the last of the major U.S. wireless carriers to get the popular phone. AT&T (NYSE: T) was first to offer it, next Verizon (NYSE: VZ) and then Sprint (NYSE: S).
Adding the iPhone will not be cheap. Deutsche Telekom told investors that free cash flow is expected to decrease to around EUR 5 billion in 2013 (scheduled figure for 2012: around EUR 6 billion), primarily as a result of the increased capital expenditure and the systematic implementation of the Challenger strategy in the U.S. market, including the agreement with Apple.
Deutsche Telekom is in a deal to acquire MetroPCS (NYSE: PCS) and combine it with its T-Mobile USA unit. The deal is expected in the first half of 2013.
