MEMSIC, Inc. (Nasdaq: MEMS) 75.3% HIGHER; announced that its Board of Directors has received an unsolicited, non-binding proposal from IDG-Accel China Growth Fund II L.P., for itself and on behalf of its affiliated funds and certain nominees (collectively, "IDG"), to acquire all outstanding shares of common stock of MEMSIC not currently owned by IDG or its affiliates for cash in the amount of $4.00 per share.
China Digital TV Holding Co. (NYSE: STV) 30.4% HIGHER; reported Q3 EPS of $0.19, versus $0.17 reported last year. Based on information available as of November 20, 2012, China Digital TV expects smart card shipment volume for the fourth quarter of 2012 to be in the range of 3.6 million to 3.9 million. Net revenues for the fourth quarter of 2012 are expected to be in the range of US$ 19.3 million to US$ 20.9 million.
Zale Corp. (NYSE: ZLC) 28.8% LOWER; reported Q1 EPS of ($0.88), $0.21 worse than the analyst estimate of ($0.67). Revenue for the quarter came in at $357 million versus the consensus estimate of $364.65 million. For the first quarter of fiscal 2013, comparable store sales increased 3.9 percent. As previously announced, the company expects to achieve positive net income for fiscal year 2013.
Scholastic Corporation (Nasdaq: SCHL) 18.1% LOWER; now expects FY13 earnings from continuing operations to be in the range of $1.40 to $1.60 per diluted share on revenues of approximately $1.8 to $1.9 billion, compared to the prior guidance of a range of $2.20 to $2.40 per diluted share on revenues of approximately $1.9 to $2.0 billion. The earnings guidance excludes the impact of any one-time items associated with cost reduction programs and non-cash, non-operating items. Free cash flow for the fiscal year is now expected to be in the range of $100 to $120 million. The Street sees EPS of $2.27 and revs of $1.94 billion.
Tillys (NYSE: TLYS) 17.6% LOWER; reported Q3 EPS of $0.30, in-line with the analyst estimate of $0.30. Revenue for the quarter came in at $124.9 million versus the consensus estimate of $128.66 million. Sees Q42012 adjusted EPS of $0.30 - $0.32, versus the consensus of $0.35. Also sees FY2012 adjusted EPS of $0.88 to $0.91, versus the consensus of $0.92.
St. Jude (NYSE: STJ) 13.5% LOWER; lower as the FDA said that St. Jude failed to follow proper inspection procedures at its Irvine, California-based facility. The FDA inspection was date from September 25th through October 17th. For more, click here.
Medgenics, Inc. (AMEX: MDGN) 13.2% HIGHER; announced a patent granted by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) protecting the use of Medgenics’ EPODURE Biopump technology for delivery of erythropoietin (EPO). Medgenics is developing EPODURE to address the need for safer, sustained treatment of anemia. The USPTO also allowed claims covering a similar method for delivery of clotting Factor VIII, underlying Medgenics’ HEMODURE™ Biopump technology for sustained prophylactic treatment of hemophilia.
Infinity Pharmaceutical (Nasdaq: INFI) 12.4% HIGHER; RBC Capital started the stock at Outperform with a $28 price target.
Skechers USA (NYSE: SKX) 12.4% HIGHER; in part, Susquehanna upgraded Skechers from Neutral to Positive.
