Boeing (BA) Looks to End 8-Year Drought Against Rival Airbus for Delivery Supremacy

Boeing (NYSE: BA) may be poised to retake the number one spot for global deliveries in FY12, according to new data out Monday.
Rival Airbus SAS said it delivered 5 A380 aircraft in October, bringing its year-to-date total up to 22 units. Airbus previously set a goal of delivering 30 A380s in 2012. In total, the Company has delivered 462 aircraft through the first 10 months of 2012.
Boeing has been behind Airbus since 2003. For 2012, the outfit has delivered about 486 aircraft. Between the two, Boeing looks to be in better shape, seeing deliveries of 585 to 600 units for the year, versus Airbus expectations of 580 units.
Order for the year also tell a tale: Airbus garnered 460 while Boeing is already at 1,012 orders. Airbus has a goal of 650 orders for FY12.
Ahead of the bell, Boeing is indicated for a lower open.
