Stocks Crossing 50-Day SMA 10/24: (TEVA) (ARNA) (ILMN) Above; (GLW) (NFX) (IACI) Below

Crossing and above:
  • Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NYSE: TEVA) - up 1.2 percent. Has been stuck in a $39.50 to $41.50 range oArnaver the last several weeks, looking like an "expanding" pennant..as in, the swings higher and lower are becoming wider each pass.

  • Arena Pharma (Nasdaq: ARNA) - up 2.9 percent. Has gone from exciting to boring. Shares have been trapped within an $8 to $10 range following the run higher on Belviq approval in June.

  • Illumina, Inc. (Nasdaq: ILMN) - up 2.4 percent. Beat Q3 EPS expectations by two cents and boosted it outlook for fiscal 2012 earnings and turnover. Strong back above the 50-day Tuesday.
Crossing and below:
  • Corning, Inc. (NYSE: GLW) - down 10.0 percent. Topped third-quarter results, but seeing some selling as investors aren't completely satisfied with the numbers.

  • Newfield Exploration Co. (NYSE: NFX) - down 17.5 percent. Selling off as it missed Q3 EPS views by three cents. Notably, shares are also below the $30 support level, which might have something to do with the extraordinary pressure.

  • IAC/InterActiveCorp (Nasdaq: IACI) - down 8.2 percent. IAC topped Q3 views, but claimed a misrepresentation of guidance for one of its segments. Shares below the $50 support level.
