Wells Fargo upgraded Alliance Data Systems (NYSE: ADS) from Market Perform to Outperform with a price target of $175 to $180 (from $123 to $125).

Despite notable upside in recent years, analysts said they still believe the stock has a reasonable valuation.

"Specifically we point to several catalysts; 1) Improving visibility in private label due to new business wins and portfolio acquisitions. 2) Improved earnings momentum in Loyalty Solutions due principally to the ramp up/expansion of the Brazilian operation but also to ongoing enhancements to the Air Miles program in Canada. 3) Epsilon should continue to benefit from the ongoing move to digital marketing and 'big data,'" wrote analyst Timothy Willi.
