Samsung asked a judge to throw out Apple's (NASDAQ: AAPL) billion dollar court victory related to the highly published patent dispute, and their request is not without good reason. A juror in the trial, Velvin Hogan, might have had an ax to grind against Samsung's partner Seagate Technology (Nasdaq: STX).
Hogan was sued by Seagate in 1993. The lawyer who filed the complaint again Hogan is married to an attorney who works for the firm representing Samsung in the Apple trial.
"Mr. Hogan's failure to disclose the Seagate suit raises issues of bias that Samsung should have been allowed to explore," Samsung told the judge.
