Brean Murray Carret & Co. initiates coverage on NVIDIA (NASDAQ: NVDA) with a Hold.

The firm comments, "While we believe that the Kepler and Tegra 3 ramps are going to be significant this quarter as they are both meaningful share gainers, we are concerned that the historically significant weakness in PCs in the 2H12 is likely to impact NVDA heading into CY13. Longer term we have a favorable view of NVDA given that it has just scratched the surface in Smartphones and tablets, and is likely to continue to take share in GPUs."
