Nokia (NOK) Strikes Deals with Six Leading Automotive Brands for Mapping Software

Nokia (NYSE: NOK) should be moving higher once again Friday, following an announcement that its Location & Commerce business unit is extending its collaboration with six of the world's "top automotive brands."
According to a release from Nokia, NAVTEQ Maps will now be included in offerings from BMW, Mercedes, Volkswagen, Hyundai, Pioneer, and Garmin (Nasdaq: GRMN).
"We believe that Nokia's Location & Commerce is uniquely positioned to provide a superior consumer experience which automotive manufacturers as well as other players in the industry can deliver to their customers, and the announcements we are making this week underscore this," said Bruno Bourguet, newly appointed Senior Vice President, Sales and Business Development, Nokia Location & Commerce.
Accouncements were made at the Mondial de l'Automobile show in Paris today.
On Thursday, Nokia announced a deal with BMW for NAVTEQ.
Shares of the Espoo, Finland-based mobile device giant are indicated lower Friday.
