Research in Motion (RIMM) on Hunt for More Apps
BlackBerry maker Research In Motion (NASDAQ: RIMM) and software development kit maker, Marmalade, announced a special offer that encourages Marmalade developers to bring their games and applications to the BlackBerry. The plan is designed to attract content to the BlackBerry 10 platform, which has lost market share to rival Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) and smartphones running Google’s (Nasdaq: GOOG) Andoid.
Alec Saunders, Vice President of Developer Relations and Ecosystem at RIM said, "Together with Marmalade, we're working to make it as easy as possible for mobile developers to bring their apps to the BlackBerry platform."
According to a press release issued by RIM, BlackBerry developers generate, on average, 4 percent more revenue per app per month than iOS developers and almost 40 percent more than Android developers.
