Potash Inventories Dip in August, But Remain Well Above 5-Year Avg. (POT) (CF) (IPI)

Traders will be keeping an eye on potash companies today following latest updates on stockpiles for August.
The Fertilizer Institute, using data from Potash Corp. (NYSE: POT), said ending inventories for August fell 221,000 tons from July to below 2.5 million mt. The number was still 33 percent above the five-year average.
In addition, DAP/MAP phosphate inventories dipped 98,000 tons, to below 800,000. That number is about 14 percent below the trailing five-year average.
Bloomberg noted that several names will be presenting at the Scotiabank Agriculture, Fertilizers and Chemicals Conference in Toronto today, including: Agrium (NYSE: AGU), CF Industries (NYSE: CF), Intrepid Potash (NYSE: IPI), Potash, and Uralkali.
