Republic Airways Holdings (NASDAQ: RJET) reported preliminary passenger traffic results for August 2012. The Company generated approximately 1.9 billion revenue passenger miles (RPMs), 3% less than the same month last year, on a 6% decrease in capacity to 2.2 billion available seat miles (ASMs). Block hours were 79,939, a decrease of 4% from August 2011. Consolidated load factor was 86% versus 84% in the same month last year. Republic Airways carried 2.8 million passengers during the month, a decrease of 2% from the prior year.
Frontier Airlines reported preliminary traffic results for August 2012. For the month, Frontier’s load factor of 92% compared to 90% in August 2011. Frontier’s traffic decreased 11%, to 1.1 billion revenue passenger miles (RPMs); capacity decreased 13%, to 1.2 billion available seat miles (ASMs). Frontier Airlines served 1.2 million passengers in August.
